Swipii's iPad-based system allows local, independent businesses to create bespoke loyalty programmes replacing traditional paper punch cards with a points-based system of fun and unique rewards.

By earning points through repeat visits, Swipii users can earn anything from free high-fives to coffee upgrades, lunches, pampering sessions and even makeovers. Swipii's aim is to move away from 'points-for-pounds' loyalty concepts and towards crafting loyalty programmes which convey the personality and culture of independent stores, with the ultimate goal of strengthening the connection that people have with their local area, under their mantra of '#LongLiveLocal'.

Expansion into Stirling

The introduction in the Stirling is running in collaboration with local business improvement district Stirling City Centre BID. Anne Rendall of the BID notes “The steering group researched the Swipii scheme and were impressed at its ability to  bring the power of the loyalty schemes operated by larger companies, to small independent ones. We thought it would make a good pilot project to demonstrate one of the ways a successful BID can deliver extra footfall into Stirling city centre. That was one of the priorities businesses told us they wanted a BID to address, when we consulted them last year.”

Araf Hamid, owner of Urban Bubble said, “We’re looking forward to having Swipii in our shop. Stirling is suffering from a lot of empty shops and we need to give our locally-owned businesses a boost. I’m keen to show local shoppers that independents retailers can keep up with the times and offer something modern and fun and also get rewarded for supporting local shops”.

Alan Rodgers, owner of Creme Central Cafe added “at last, something that will allow the independent traders in Stirling to get together to provide something for the benefit all the people in Stirling. It’s a 21st century idea for a town that's going places”

Swipii CEO and co-founder Chitresh Sharma says; "We are really excited about bringing Swipii to Stirling, our aim is to really empower local shops and help them grow along with their communities. We want to help businesses in Stirling bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds and help them modernise their business, and Swipii is very easy for both customers and the shop staff to use, which means that it doesn’t intrude on the staff’s time and they can carry on doing what they do best”.
