(18 Feb 2015) - Stirling Council to meet to finalise its budget for the next year
Annual budget meeting at Viewforth on Thursday 19th Feb at 6.30pm to finalise the authority’s 2015-16 budget.
Despite gloomy forecasts about cuts to come, Stirling Council are likely next financial year to cut £185,000 from their projected £208million budget.
Although the council’s ruling Labour-Conservative administration have put off the hard decisions for another year, they expressed serious concern over the long-term financial stability of local government. They say they face the prospect of having to save up to £21m over the course of the next five years. Council tax is set to be frozen for the eighth successive year
